iLingual's mission statement is to enhance the quality of life of people in-need of humanitarian medical services by breaking down the barriers of language differences. Because all human beings have the right to a dignified life and world languages should never build walls, but instead build bridges of communication, expression and acceptance. We empower refugees and immigrants to be fully independent without the need of an on-site interpreter. We can provide them with a 24-hour translation service or help with finding the nearest health practitioner at any time and place.
iLingual offers open translation services powered by the world’s 2.5 billion multilingual speakers to volunteer their time, skill-sets and experience as linguistic interpreters for the 70-million refugees and immigrants worldwide. For medical emergencies, iLingual offers help with finding the nearest health practitioner for your medical needs.
Here is how it works for refugees, immigrants, international students, temporary workers, visitors, and friends/families/sponsors:
- After installing the app, users will be prompted to select the language. Users will select on-demand translation services or find nearby health practitioners for their medical needs. iLingual’s machine learning algorithm will pair the users with the best available translators online or medical professionals.
- iLingual will be able to connect both parties on a 1-on-1 live chat session online where they can send messages, digital documents, and start a phone or video call.
- When the request of translation (volunteer) or finding the nearest health practitioner (doctors) has been fulfilled, either party can end the call and the user can rate the session of the service provided.
Here is how it will work for translators:
- Translators will be directed to a brief training session to familiarize them with iLingual’s code of conduct and the steps they need to take to earn an official Translator Designation with the number of hours and people they helped.
- When a seeker requests an open-invitation to a translator with a specific language skill, the interpreter will receive a notification asking if they are willing to take on the seeker. Translators will get to accept or decline the request, but the first volunteer that accepts it will be directed to a live session with the seeker.
- When the request has been fulfilled, either party can end the call and the translator can provide feedback on the completed session.

I just wanted to let you know that I just utilized iLingual for a document translation and it was such an easy process. I was immediately conected with a virtual translator and they were very quick and professional. I'm excited to be able to share this information with my friends!
This service is absolutely awesome. I was able to log on and choose a time slot that worked for my busy day. The doctor called me for the meeting and sent the prescription directly to my pharmacy. The service saved me time, money, and helped me improve my health.
I really do like this service. Two weeks ago I started to have a sore throat and I used this service for the first time. I called and got with a Doctor via appointment and told them my symptoms and he prescribed me with antibiotics right away. My prescriptions were sent right over to my pharmacy with no hassle. I did not have to wait long and it was a lot easier for me because I did it as soon as I got home from work. I made the call in my living room. For being a first time customer, I would gladly use iLingual again.
As a French-language speaker living in America, I find it extremely difficult to communicate with doctors who do not speak my language. I feel like it's hard for doctors to understand me and my symptoms and I end up searching them through Google. However, when I search up my symptoms on Google, I do not feel like it is completely accurate for me. Then one day, I discovered iLingual. I was able to receive help with translations from an incredible translator. Shoutout to John White. John was the best translator ever. He understood me perfectly and I was able to then talk to my doctor about my symptoms. Thanks iLingual for you incredible service!
One of my buddies was chatting with me one day and he brought up this service into our conversation. At the time, I had just moved abroad as an exchange student to Malaysia, and I was having trouble adjusting to the country. I am someone who experiences muscle pain very often and I often need to go to physical therapy for it. I was trying to find a Malaysian physical therapist around for a while, but I did not have any luck. When I finally found one, it turned out he did not understand my language and had no translators available. That's when I used iLingual. So far I have had an amazing experience with it and I am now able to communicate with my physical therapist with ease!
